If you delete 'egGetSvc' service EagleGet will continue to run and download but after restart it will not remember the downloaded files before the restart. So EagleGet can be made portable but it will be half-functional. Portable settings are kept at 'Eagleget\UserData' sub-folder; the Firefox addon has been updated, and there's now an option to disable auto-checking for updates in the 'Configuration | Notification' dialog.
